Kokanee Creek Sampling

How healthy is Kokanee Creek? Join us at the Kokanee Creek Visitors’ Centre as we head out to the creek to measure water temperature, oxygen content and sample the invertebrates of the creek. We can judge the health of a creek by the invertebrates that live there.

American Dipper with a Bill full of Food, Siderius Photo

This American Dipper lives and nests on the creek and relies on the invertebrates in the creek to feed itself and its young. It can catch some invertebrates while holding others in its bill.  Quite the talent!
